Vermibloc®

Passive Fireproofing – Internal/External Application

Product Description

The Vermibloc® system comprises a composite cementitious system which if necessary, is combined with a steel protective sleeve assembly, factory prepared and ready for installation around services requiring protection.

Effective Fireproofing

A steel element is bonded to the Vermibloc® cementitious component ensuring perimeter protection to the assembly and at the same time to allow for the assembly to be dismantled for inspection/maintenance purposes. The thickness of the fireproofing system is determined from the manufacturer's schedules for the various fire resistance periods and element sizes.

Technical Information

Vermibloc® is manufactured to ISO 9001-2008/ ISO 14001/ OSHAS 18001 Standards. It has been tested to the relevant British, American and Australian Standards at the CSIRO’s research facilities in North Ryde. Vermibloc® contains superior fire resistance properties of up to four (4) hours.

Health and Safety

A blend of cement and vermiculite, Vermibloc® contains no asbestos and presents no known health hazard before, during or after application. Normal precautions for gypsum products apply.

Ready to use (prefabricated), tailored shape/size, quick installation

VERMIBLOC® SYSTEM

Since 1963 LAF has been prefabricating elements for application in the field of fire, thermal and acoustic protection. Vermibloc® can be used to protect small threaded rods, large circular hollow sections, steel columns and steel beams. It can also be used to seal around fire dampers in oversized wall penetrations, and to act as a lintel to the top of a fire damper when suspended below a slab.
