Fire-resistant coating for External Application, Vehicular Tunnels, Oil & Gas Industry (Hydrocarbon fires)
Product Description
Vermitex® TH is a heavy duty cement - vermiculite based fireproof coating specially engineered to protect concrete, structural steel, alloys, advanced composites and other engineering substrates from hydrocarbon fires. Vermitex® TH is designed for use in industrial and petrochemical environments, and above-ground and subterranean vehicular tunnels.
Effective Fireproofing
Vermitex® TH combines excellent fire and thermal insulation qualities with noise abatement and anti-condensation properties. Vermitex® TH is especially developed for protection against hydrocarbon fires and thoroughly tested to comply with British and Australian Standards; ISO/AS/BS/ASTM Cellulosic fire type and rapid rise Hydrocarbon to BS (appendix D), UL 1709, RABT (train), RWS and HCinc Modified heating conditions.
Technical Information
Vermitex® TH is manufactured under factory controlled conditions to ISO 9001-2008; ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Quality Standards. It is delivered to site in ‘batch’ form, ready to be mixed to the required consistency before application.
Vermitex® TH has been fully tested to many hydrocarbon fire curves. Vermitex® TH will continue to perform its fire protective functions without deterioration for up to 100 years. Fire resistance levels range from thirty (30) minutes to four (4) hours inclusive, with a thermal conductivity of 0.114 W/mK.
Vermitex® TH system for upgrading the fire performance of horizontal and vertical concrete elements has been tested to ISO/AS/BS/ASTM Cellulosic fire type and rapid rise Hydrocarbon to BS 476:20 (appendix D), UL 1709, RABT (train), RWS (to 1350°C) and HCinc Modified heating conditions.
Vermitex® TH has been tested at UL lab according to UL-1709 (listing design: XR 724).
Vermitex® TH is listed by FM global for ASTM-E 1529 as well as ASTM-E119-008 under Hydrocarbon regime condition. Vermitex® TH fireproofing is non-friable and possesses excellent chemical and mechanical abrasion resistance during the construction phase and in-service.
Health and Safety
Vermitex® TH is formulated from naturally occurring materials. It does not contain any harmful substances to humans or the environment.
Environmental Sustainability
Vermitex® TH has no long-term environmental effects on air, water or land. Both the product and the bag can be recycled or disposed of as landfill. When used as standalone or combined with Trimesh to provide acoustic and fire protective engineering solutions, Vermitex® TH may positively influence any ‘Green’ rating system (i.e. LEEDs) from 36 percent to 51 percent.
