Adhesive for Prick-up Coat
Product Description
Vermibond® is low viscosity coarse particle size vinyl acetate resin emulsion, which when mixed with water will improve the adhesion of LAF spray applied (normally Vermitex® 7) cement based compounds onto masonry and metal substrates. This blend of LAF cement based products may also be known as: prick-up, dash coat, primer coat and rough cast.
Effective Fireproofing
Vermibond® can be added to main and levelling coats when adhesion to the previous coat is of primary importance. As a prick-up coat the blend is applied to smooth (mirror like) surfaces such as off-form concrete as well as steel where the stickability may be impeded by the smoothness.
Vermibond® is combustible and therefore the recommended dosage noted in the application instructions of Vermitex® 7 should not be exceeded. A prick-up coat should only cover 50 to 75% of the substrate.
Technical Information
Vermibond® is manufactured to ISO 9001-2008/ ISO 14001/ OSHAS 18001 Standards.
Health and Safety
When mixed with LAF products Vermibond® contains very low VOC’s and presents no known health hazard before, during or after application.
Environmental Sustainability
Vermibond® has no long-term environmental effects on air, water or land. Both the product and the container can be recycled or disposed of as landfill.
